Peter Bennett

Peter is a Chartered Physiotherapist and is registered with the Health Professionals Council.  He is a specialist in treating musculoskeletal dysfunction, including neck, back, knee problems and sports injuries using soft tissue techniques and ‘hands on’ skills, along with electrotherapy and ultrasound treatment.

Between 2005 and 2008 he has attended over 100 hours Continual Professional Development courses to constantly update his skills.

With over 30 years experience in the health and fitness industry; working as a Health and Fitness Exercise Specialist with local authority, he also
developed Exercise on Prescription to include cardiac rehabilitation, exercise protocols for low back pain, osteoarthritis and chronic pulmonary disease patients.

Peter also has an Advanced Diploma in Remedial Massage, Higher Grade Diploma in Manipulative Therapy, Advanced Diploma in Exercise Instruction, and a Diploma in Sports Science and Sports Therapy.  He is a member of the Neurological Orthopaedic Institute (NOI) and the Dynamic Ultrasound Group (DUG).

Nicola Hodgson nee Barratt

Nicola trained as a physiotherapist at the University of Manchester with a Bachelor of Science degree with honours. She is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and registered with the Health Professionals Council. Since qualifying she has worked in an NHS Foundation Hospital Teaching Trust as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist, treating post-operative patients and referrals from local GP’s. She has also gained valuable experience working with Stockport rugby union.

She has also completed Acupuncture training and is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP).

Nicola is committed to maintaining and improving her skills and knowledge in physiotherapy. As such, she frequently enrols in courses for further professional development. Most recently, she has attended courses on temporomandibular joint dysfunction and completed nine months training for a diploma from the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine.

James Crow

James comes to us from the Lake District where he trained to teach Alexander Technique. He also has a degree in Cognitive Science and takes a special interest in the root causes of postural pain, in particular those personal habits and traits that can cause the physical problems and pain that so many of us experience.

Phil Southward

Phil trained as a remedial massage therapist at the renowned Northern Institute of Massage which builds upon his background in sport and exercise as a personal trainer and aerobics teacher. He offers remedial and sports massage which can help in both acute and chronic injuries and illnesses. He is experienced at treating sprains and strains as well as having a particular interest in treating long term muscular skeletal conditions.

He is continuing to add to his skills and knowledge through continuing professional development.

Julie Widowson

Julie qualified in 1989 as a Beauty Therapist (IHBC and City & Guilds qualifications), and has a wealth of experience in Beauty Salons as a Therapist and Supervisor.  Having also achieved teaching qualifications (7307 City & Guilds), and been awarded the Certificate in Education by the University of Manchester, she has taught in Warrington and at Leigh College, alongside her mobile beauty therapy work.

A wide-ranging portfolio of holistic/complementary therapies is offered by Julie, with qualifications in Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Reiki and Hopi Ear Candle treatment.  She also provides mobile therapist, beauty and holistic treatments, and teaches adults with learning difficulties.

Pippa Taylor

Pippa trained in Podiatry at Huddersfield University where she was awarded a BSc Honours degree. She is a member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists and is registered with the Health Professionals Council.

Since qualifying she has worked in private practice specialising in Biomechanics and sports injuries, and has a particular interest and understanding of sports people being a competitive sailor, runner and cyclist.

She is committed to Continuing Professional Development, frequently enrolling in different courses to keep her up to date with new practices and techniques.
