Peter Bennett

Peter is a Chartered Physiotherapist and is registered with the Health Professionals Council.  He is a specialist in treating musculoskeletal dysfunction, including neck, back, knee problems and sports injuries using soft tissue techniques and ‘hands on’ skills, along with electrotherapy, ultrasound and Shockwave treatment.

He has attended hundreds of hours Continual Professional Development courses to constantly update his skills.

With over 30 years experience in the health and fitness industry; working as a Health and Fitness Exercise Specialist with local authority, he also
developed Exercise on Prescription to include cardiac rehabilitation, exercise protocols for low back pain, osteoarthritis and chronic pulmonary disease patients.

Peter also has an Advanced Diploma in Remedial Massage, Higher Grade Diploma in Manipulative Therapy, Advanced Diploma in Exercise Instruction, and a Diploma in Sports Science and Sports Therapy.  He is a member of the Neurological Orthopaedic Institute (NOI) and the Dynamic Ultrasound Group (DUG).

Nicola Hodgson nee Barratt

Nicola trained as a physiotherapist at the University of Manchester with a Bachelor of Science degree with honours. She is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and registered with the Health Professionals Council. Since qualifying she has worked in an NHS Foundation Hospital Teaching Trust as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist, treating post-operative patients and referrals from local GP’s. She has also gained valuable experience working with Stockport rugby union.

She has also completed Acupuncture training and is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP).

Nicola is committed to maintaining and improving her skills and knowledge in physiotherapy. As such, she frequently enrols in courses for further professional development. Most recently, she has attended courses on temporomandibular joint dysfunction and completed nine months training for a diploma from the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine.

James Crow

James comes to us from the Lake District where he trained to teach Alexander Technique. He also has a degree in Cognitive Science and takes a special interest in the root causes of postural pain, in particular those personal habits and traits that can cause the physical problems and pain that so many of us experience.

Phil Southward

Phil trained as a remedial massage therapist at the renowned Northern Institute of Massage which builds upon his background in sport and exercise as a personal trainer and aerobics teacher. He offers remedial and sports massage which can help in both acute and chronic injuries and illnesses. He is experienced at treating sprains and strains as well as having a particular interest in treating long term muscular skeletal conditions.

He is continuing to add to his skills and knowledge through continuing professional development.

Julie Widowson

Julie is a fully qualified advanced hypnotherapist (ADCHyp), an Intuitive Coach, Reiki Master and tutor (Cert'Ed) (trained at NCOCH, Northern College of Creative Hynotherapy).

Jule attends regular CPD in hypnotherapy to keep up to date within her work, this also includes mindfulness, meditation and courses on NLP and EFT - she is registered with the GHR (General Hypnotherapy Register) and FHT ( Federation of Holistic Therapies).

A wide-ranging porfolio of holistic/complementary therapies is also offered in Refelexology, Indian Head and Full Body Massage, Reiki and Hopi Ear Candle treatments.

Jane Murray

Jane attained a VTCT certificate in Swedish Massage in 2007 and has since obtained diplomas in Remedial Massage, Sports Massage and Sports Therapy at the distinguished Northern Institute of Massage. SHe is currently working towards her Advanced Diploma in Manipulative Therapy (Adv Dip MT) and is undertaking regular Continual Professional Development courses to update her skills.

In 2012 Jane became a member of The Society of Sports Therapists, (one of the few bodies working towards legal accreditation for the massage therapy industry), the NAMMT, GCMT and the CNHC.

During 2010/11, experience gained at Salford Reds Rugby League Club alongsode the sports therapy team, helped enormously in understanding the complexities of sports injuries, repair ad the importance of massage both prehab and rehab. In 2010 Jane joined Marple Fire Station for their annual 10K run,providing pre and post race massage for competitors. This has become an annual event in her calendar!

Jane is a great believer in Pilates helping strengthen the body's core, flexibility and agility, working hand in hand with massage to benefit the body as a whole. She also has a particular interest in the Lymphatic System practising lymphatic drainage.

Louise Kenworthy

Louise trained in Podiatry at Huddersfield University where she was awarded a BSc Honours degree. She is a member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists and is registered with the Health Professionals Council.

Since qualifying in 2003, Louise has worked in both the NHS and private sector, specialising in Biomechanics and sports injuries. She also has a postgraduate certificate in podopaediatrics (children's feet)

With a commitment to keeping up to date with current practice Louise has also undertaken further studies in the following masters modules:- Clinical biomechanics Neurological conditions

She also enjoys keeping her practice up to date by regularly enrolling in new courses to develop her practice further

 

Ashleigh Adams

Ashleigh Ashleigh joins the team having qualified from the renowned British School of Osteopathy in London in 2016, successfully attaining the clinical excellence award during her studies. This has allowed her to achieve a fully qualified and insured status within her chosen field of Osteopathy.

Whilst studying at the BSO, she gained substantial experience in a community clinic - treating a wide variety of patients including expectant mothers, children, elderly patients and HIV sufferers. Ashleigh has gained further qualifications in the areas of low level laser therapy and applied kinesiology taping.

Her career has given Ashleigh substantial experience in treating a range of symptoms including, amongst others, sports injuries and arthritic pain. She does however, have a particular interest and speciality in the sensitive treatment of expectant mothers.
